High School Sports Moved Back To Sept. 1, At Least

The N.C. High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) officially made their first move regarding fall sports on Wednesday afternoon, pushing back the start date from Aug. 17 until at least Sept. 1 due to COVID-19 concerns.
As part of the announcement, the NCH-SAA said teams across the state will currently remain in Phase One of the reopening process until further notice.
Also, the first five student days of the 2020-21 academic year will be designated as a “dead period” for all sports, “allowing school staff to focus on the start of school.”
