The following briefs are from Thursday, July 23, 1970, edition of The Transylvania Times.
William Waters, 22, of Transylvania County, suffered a gunshot wound in the right arm Friday, July 17, according to Sheriff Carter McCall. Waters was admitted to Transylvania Community Hospital, where his condition was reported in good condition this week. A spokesman at McCall’s office said Waters was apparently shot with a sawed-off shotgun. His brother was being held in jail without bond on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
