A Transylvania County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a 50-year-old male on July 12 in the Connestee Falls neighborhood for two counts of felony indecent exposure after the male allegedly “chased a woman and her children on a trail with no clothes on,” according to the arrest report.

According to the arrest report, the man, Joseph Christopher Geremia, attempted to block the woman and her kids from getting into her vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, officer Brandon S. Holden saw Geremia walking around in the nude, and when questioned about what he was doing, Geremia said he was “going for a swim.”

The woman was with her two small children and said they were walking to a waterfall at the bottom of the trail when they noticed Geremia walking behind them.

According to the report, Geremia then somehow ended up on the trail in front of them on the trail, at which point the family turned around.

After running Geremia’s license plate, deputies discovered that Geremia was on a sex offender registry.

Geremia was placed in the Transylvania County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond.
