And The Band Played On... The Cold, Hard Realities Of Fall Sports

“I can smell ice, ya’ know. When it’s near.”
That quote is from the movie “Titanic,” spoken by a crew member in the crow’s nest moments before the unsinkable ship plowed into an iceberg, yet, it seems eerily applicable to the notion of the fall sports season trying to open up on Sept. 1.
Covering high school sports is my job. This was set to be my sixth season doing so.
But, I can’t, in good conscience, suggest that it will actually happen.
