In The Bible Mission

In the Bible Mission meets at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center every Sunday morning. The Rev. Pete Lee is the pastor. The congregation enjoys singing and special music, along with good fellowship each and every Sunday morning. Visitors are always welcome

Community Center

Our meeting on Monday was eventful going over all the work that has been done and going to be done. It is amazing how well everything has been falling in place. The building is over 100 years old and has so much history and has been a part of many folks’ life in the community.

Jency Lambert

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Jency McCall Lambert who passed away on July 24, just 10 day after her husband, Richard, passed. Jency was 87 years old. Her memorial service was on Tuesday, July 28, at Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Tony Lambert officiated. Pray for her family, losing two special people so close together.

New Hope Baptist Church

Pastor Lee Patrick will be guest preacher at New Hope Baptist Church located on Goodneighbor Drive near Harmony Korner. The church invites anyone who would like to hear the word of our Lord to attend. The church has really appreciated Rev. Allen Thompson who has filled in for the last couple weeks.

Prayers

Praying for those who have lost loved ones or have family or themselves who are not doing so well. Pray for health care workers and keep them safe not just during this pandemic but all the time. Also remember law enforcement officers, firefighters, our military and ministers, and, especially, our country and leaders.

Birthday

Happy belated birthday to Debi Johnson on July 27. Hope she had a happy day and hope she enjoys her beautiful new rocking chairs.

The Window

My back porch is looking like a small jungle with the plants out there. I thought, that is where I look out most of the time, especially watching for birds to come to the feeder. By the way, I haven’t seen as many birds probably because of all the natural food they are finding. I planted some marigolds and for some reason they did not do good. While in the Dollar Store last week I saw some packets of marigold seeds – two for a $1, so I thought I’ll try. I sowed both packets in a medium-size planter, and I think all the seeds came up. I’ll have my marigolds, I hope, before winter sets in.
