Garden Update

If you're trying to track down Carroll or Kae Parker, stake out their Island Ford Road garden early in the morning. That's when they're busy picking squash, beans and other veggies, while avoiding heat and afternoon thunderstorms.

During the day, Kae is staying busy canning the abundance of beans the garden has produced. At noon the couple tucks into BLT sandwiches, with freshly picked tomatoes.

Like other gardeners, Kae says the squash "has kept us quite busy." While they've frozen some to enjoy later, she says much of it has gone to Sharing House for their Produce Day, he...
