The following briefs are from Thursday, Aug. 6, 1970, edition of The Transylvania Times.

There have recently been several cases of damage to the Citizens Telephone Company’s property that can only be classed as deliberate property destruction. In one case a telephone pole was climbed and the cable hacked to pieces with a hatchet. In another case, a shot was fired into a repeater housing on the Greenville Highway.
