Structural Racism

I have been participating regularly in the NAACP-sponsored events on the courthouse lawn on Monday afternoons. “Black Lives Matter” is sometimes countered with “All Lives Matter.” Of course they do. But injustice and fear are a daily part of black lives, and until we who are white understand that black lives matter, and treat them as such, all lives, in fact, do not matter.
“I am not racist. I treat everyone the same, no matter their color.”
That is also frequently heard. But whether I am racist or not, I live in a culture which has inherited institutional or structural racism...
