Council Approves Fireworks Funds Going To City Parks – Brevard, NC

During its recent meeting, Brevard City Council voted to reallocate $15,000 in funds that had been budgeted for the July 4 fireworks display to go to the Brevard dog park and the Silversteen Memorial Park Playground instead.
With Gov. Roy Cooper’s Phase 2 extension, the firework show that was rescheduled from July 4 to Sept. 7 has now been cancelled.
Rather than terminate the contract with the company, Zambelli Fireworks, from which the city purchases its fireworks and which charges a $4,500 cancellation fee, staff has negotiated an increase for July 4, 2021, from $15,000 to $20,000,...
