I recently received a phone call from Duke Energy promoting their new “clean energy” alternative. It is apparently an offset plan, where for a few extra dollars a month you can purchase energy from non-carbon sources rather than traditional carbon-based power.
When I asked if he was aware that I was a customer of Arcadia Power and was already using solar energy, he replied that he was aware of that, but that Arcadia was selling me power from Iowa or Arizona and that Duke’s alternate power came from North Carolina and neighboring states. I suspect that Duke is targeting Arcadia custom...
