Veterans History Museum Reopens With New Exhibit

The focal point of the exhibit is a beautifully crafted replica of Liberty ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien.

The Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas is excited to reopen its doors and welcome back visitors with an absorbing new exhibit beginning Thursday, Sept. 10. Upon entering the museum, a beautiful glass-encased replica of the Merchant Marine Liberty ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien draws visitors into the Harold Wellington WWII Merchant Marine Exhibit.

Wellington, a dedicated museum volunteer, served in the Merchant Marine from 1942 to 1946, the U.S. Army in 1948, and the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He served in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The exhibit's artifacts, books and photographs...
