BPD Sees Advantages In Going Digital – Brevard, NC

It's a scenario that police officials say should never have to happen, but it has.

In it, officers communicate their next move over the radio, whether it be to serve a warrant or enact a raid, but when they arrive, the criminals knew the police were coming and fled, or destroyed the evidence, because they were listening over the police scanner.

For the Brevard Police Department (BPD), that will no longer happen with its upgrade in June from analog radio to digital.
