Residents Vote Down $4 Million School Bond

The following briefs are from Thursday, Sept. 17, 1970, edition of The Transylvania Times.
With a 60 per cent turnout, Transylvania voted against the special $4 million dollar school bond election last Saturday. The vote was as follows: for - 2,489, against - 2,978; total - 5,467. All four of the Brevard precincts voted in favor of the bond issue; however, all the outlying precincts, except Dunn’s Rock, voted against the bonds. There are 9,102 voters registered in Transylvania, according to Admiral Ligon Ard, chairman of the Board of Elections.
