NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION Transylvania County, NORTH Carolina

Notice is hereby given pursuant to GS 163-33(8) that a general election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Transylvania County to vote in the following contests:

President and Vice President, US Senate, US House of Representatives District 11, NC Governor, NC Lieutenant Governor, NC Attorney General, NC Auditor, NC Commissioner of Agriculture, NC Commissioner of Insurance, NC Commissioner of Labor, NC Secretary of State, NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, NC Treasurer, NC Supreme Court Chief Justice Seat 1, NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 2,4, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 4,5,6,7,13, NC State Senate District 48, NC House of Representatives District 113, NC Superior Court Judge District 29B Seat 1, NC District Court Judge District 29B Seat 1,2,3,4, Board of County Commissioners, Board of County Commissioners (Unexpired Term), Board of Education, Register of Deeds, Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, November 3. One- stop early voting will be held at the old Kmart (next to Ingles) and Rosman Town Hall. One-stop early voting will be open from Thursday, October 15 until Saturday, October 31 at both locations.

Canvass will be held in the Transylvania County Election Center at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020.

Absentee voting by mail is available. Requests for an absentee ballot must be made on an absentee request form (available on the State Board of Elections website, on the Transylvania County Board of Elections website and the Election Center office), and must be received in the Transylvania County Board of Elections office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Transylvania County Board of Elections by 5:00 p.m. on Election Day (ballots received by mail after this time will be timely if received within three business days and postmarked by Election Day).

Individuals voting in person are entitled to assistance by an election official, or, if assistance is needed due to disability or illiteracy, by a qualified person of their choice. Voting sites are accessible to all voters. Curbside voting is available for voters who are not physically able to enter voting sites. COVID- 19 procedures and social distancing will be implemented for early voting and Election Day for the safety of workers and voters.

Brevard #4 – Old Kmart (next to Ingles)**

Boyd – North Transylvania Fire Department

Cathey’s Creek – Cathey’s Creek Community Center

Cedar Mountain – Cedar Mountain Community Center

Dunn’s Rock – Dunn’s Rock Community Center

East Fork – Rosman Town Hall***

Little River – Little River Community Center

Pisgah Forest – Transylvania County Public Safety Facility

Rosman Eastatoe – Rosman Town Hall

TC1 – Balsam Grove Community Center

TC7 – Lake Toxaway Community Center

Williamson Creek – Williamson Creek Community Center

*Note: The Board of Elections has temporarily moved the Brevard #3 precinct’s polling site to the old Kmart (next to Ingles) for the November 3, 2020 General Election. Mailings will be sent to affected voters.

**Note: The Board of Elections has temporarily moved the Brevard #4 precinct’s polling site to the old Kmart (next to Ingles) for the November 3, 2020 General Election. Mailings will be sent to affected voters.
