R E S O L U T IO N

Concerning the Voting Place of East Fork Precinct

WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 163-128(a) authorizes a county board of elections to establish, alter, discontinue, or create voting places; and,

WHEREAS, the Board of Elections took action at its meeting August 21, 2020 to temporarily transfer the voting place for East Fork precinct from the Connestee Fire Rescue Substation to the Rosman Town Hall located at 6 Main St, Rosman NC 28772

WHEREAS, Connestee Fire Rescue Substation is currently being used as a quarantine location for emergency workers for an undisclosed time period and is inadequate for social distancing requirements.

WHEREAS, the Transylvania County Board of Elections agrees the temporary location is suitable to conduct precinct business on November 3, 2020 and will return to the Connestee Fire Rescue Substation for future elections.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Transylvania County Board of Elections that notice of the change in the voting place be given in accordance with state law by advertisement in The Transylvania Times, by posting a copy of this resolution at the door of the Transylvania County Board of Elections Office, and by mailing copies of this resolution to the chairmen of the Transylvania County Democratic and Republican Parties; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the county board of elections shall maintain separate registration and voting records for East Fork and Rosman precincts residing at the Rosman Town Hall; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this change in voting place shall be mailed to all eligible voters in the East Fork precinct; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this change in voting place be sent to the State Board of Elections with supplemental materials provided.
