Trash left behind in local forests is an eye sore, luckily there are locals who care.

Outdoor recreation is growing even faster in popularity than it already was due to COVID-19, and while many may lament the days of quiet trips to now oft overrun places such as Black Balsam, Sliding Rock and Triple Falls, high visitation is likely to be the "new normal" for western North Carolina public lands.
