Virtual Pumpkin Patch To Support Playground Fund – Brevard, NC

Last updated 10/19/2020 at 3:27pm

First United Methodist Church is holding a virtual pumpkin patch this year to raise funds for its pre-school program.

The famous pumpkin patch in front of the First Methodist Church this year will look quite different. The normal way of selling actual pumpkins was cancelled due to the need for social distancing during unloading of pumpkins.

Therefore, a virtual pumpkin patch will take place. There will be an opportunity for people to make a donation toward the Playground Fund, either using the Go Fund Me: ; or by mailing a check to the church (425 N. Broad St., Brevard 28712) or "in-person" donations at the virtual patch every Saturday during October. These funds will be used for the final enhancement of the church playground project.

Once a donation is received the name of the donor (or in memory of or in honor of) will be written on an actual replica of a pumpkin on a stake driven into the church lawn. There will be photo "Ops" in the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is open every Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those wishing to take their virtual pumpkins home, may pull them up and take them home between Oct. 24-31.

First Methodist pre-school, weekday children's program will be holding open registration for the January semester on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the pumpkin patch. This quality pre-school program plans to reopen its doors on Monday, Jan. 11. Contact Cindy Adams, director, for more information at (828) 553-9232.
