Daylight Savings Time Ends
Remember that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday. Before going to bed on Saturday be sure to turn your clocks back one hour. Also, this is a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms.
Don’t forget the election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Be sure to come out and vote in all the races, local statewide and national.
Bingo And Jam Session
There will not be any bingo or jam session at the Balsam Grove Community Center for the remainder of 2020. We miss everyone and hope that all of you stay well. Hopefully, we will open back up in March 2021.
God’s Way Food Pantry
We are no longer able to allow after-hours pick-up. The food pantry is open every other Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The next food pantry will be Oct. 31 and will be drive-through only. If you are sick or unable to come, please call to have someone to pick up for you. Blessings to David, Lydia and staff.
Wi-Fi At The Community Center
The Balsam Grove Community Club is suspending its scheduled Wi-Fi for students until further notice. If any student needs access to Wi-Fi, they can still access it in the parking lot close to the brick building. Also, they can contact Carol Gardner at 884-6247 if they need to schedule a time during the school day or need more information.
Balsam Grove Playground
The Balsam Grove playground at the community center is open at this time. Just be sure to check for bees, and please practice safety by wearing a mask and social districting, and be sure to wash hands before entering the playground and after leaving the playground.
If you have donations for your yard sales, please contact an officer of the Community Club to meet you at the community center to put it in the building. Items get ruined if they are just dropped off at the door, and then we have to pay to have it hauled off. We appreciate your cooperation. Calls may be made to Bernice Powell at 884-6058 or Carol Gardner at 884-6247 or any other officer.
Silver Sneakers On Zoom
Balsam Grove is using a Zoom class to continue its Silver Sneakers program on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for visiting and exercise. If you have Silver Sneakers, it’s free. If not, it costs $5 per session. All you need is a device that connects to the internet and the Zoom app. We’ll even help you figure out the technology if you need help. For more information, contact Melissa McCall at 577-3724 or [email protected]
