GOP Thinks Voters Are Stupid

Just a friendly reminder that the Republican Party thinks voters are stupid and won’t do any of their own research. I’ve never been a Republican. I’ve spent most of my adult life as a registered Independent, Green or Democrat. I’ve voted for third party candidates and even a few local election RINOs.
I don’t know how many times I have to say this: if you make under $500,000 a year and aren’t a white straight male, the GOP doesn’t care about you and thinks you’re too dumb to notice. They use trendy topical words like God, abortion, guns, and no big government to get voters excited while simultaneously stripping away services and protections for the working and middle class. They have gutted our rural health care in states like North Carolina.
It’s the party for rich white dudes to become richer whiter dudes. The greatest scam the conservatives ever pulled is getting poor rural Americans to think the GOP has their best interests in mind. I plead with all of my friends who are still planning on voting to not support the GOP in any way this year. Stop letting them take advantage of you and getting away with it. No party or candidate is perfect, but do some research beyond the flashy one words that get voters heated about the GOP. Check out Jo, Howie and Joe. Explore your down ballot races. Don’t let them take advantage of you. Do your research and hold your local leaders accountable.
It’s on each of us to be informed voters when we walk in to cast our ballot. Despite what the president says, it is possible to find facts about the laws, policies, and society we are living in. It’s not all “fake news.”
I will leave you with this quote from my favorite B-Movie actor turned terrible president ... “Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?”
