Ida Elizabeth Hamilton

Ida Elizabeth Hamilton, of Penrose, passed away Nov. 16, 2020.

She was born on March 23, 1930, to the late George Larkin and Ida Elizabeth Reid Miller. In addition to her parents, her husband, Charles Bruce Hamilton; sisters, Lucy Hubbard, Louise McKinney and Annie McDowell; and brothers, Sherrill, Carl and Charlie Miller, predeceased her.

A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was of Baptist faith and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. At 90 years old, she lived a very long life being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved homemaking, gardening, reading and flowers. She was a great seamstress and made many beautiful crafts.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Honeycutt and husband, Gerald, of Little River; son, Douglas Hamilton, of Little River; sister, Myrtle Gordan, of Henderson County and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cantrell-Bolt, of Brevard; grandchildren, Melissa Moreno and husband, Jorge, of Etowah, and Mickey Honeycutt and wife, Lanessa, of Little River; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Isabella, Fabian, Jordan, Antoni, Jazmin and Derek.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
