COVID-19 Vigil Held As Numbers Keep Increasing – Transylvania County, NC

On Monday, the Transylvania County NAACP chapter gathered at the courthouse lawn to hold a vigil in honor of those who have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to honor the frontline health care workers fighting to treat patients and combat the virus. Transylvania Public Health reported eight additional cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, for a total of 577 cases and nine deaths among county residents since the pandemic started.

As of Wednesday, 38 county residents were in isolation for COVID-19 (within 10 days of symptom onset or 10 days of a positive test). Also, a total of five cases (one resident and four employees) have been associated with the ongoing outbreak at The Oaks
