Recalling Attack On Pearl Harbor

I was almost 10 years old on Sunday, Dec. 7, 1941. My parents and I were living in the naval dependent housing area at Pearl Harbor and adjacent to Hickam Army Airfield. From our house, one could clearly see Ford Island in the middle of harbor, at which several battleships were tied. One could also see many U.S. aircraft lined up in neat rows on the tarmac in front of their hangers in the adjacent Hickam Field.
