Teen Works With City On New Basketball Court – Matt McGregor

Recently, 17-year-old Bahtle Griffin, a Brevard High senior, was playing basketball at the Silversteen Memorial Playground when City Manager Jim Fatland recruited Griffin to be the "technical consultant" in choosing a new court.

In the process of evaluating construction in the Rosenwald Revitalization Project, Fatland had been meeting with the contractor of the playground during a site visit on Nov. 23, just as Griffin happened to be shooting hoops on the old, concrete court.

After the site had been gauged and everyone departed, Fatland noticed Griffin playing and decided it would be best...
