More Holiday Stocking Hunt Winners Announced

Five new stockings were placed with care at participating locations on Monday, Dec. 7, and all but one of the initial 10 stockings have been returned to the Visitor Center. Each person who returned a stocking received $50 in Transylvania Bucks to spend at participating business locations.

In addition to last week's stocking finders, Linda Randall found a stocking at Blue Moon Gallery and Frame, located at 24 E. Main St .; Lynn Barnett found a stocking at Harris ACE Hardware, located at 87 W. Main St .; Renay and Mike Todd found a stocking at Brevard Hemp, located at 19 N. Caldwell St .; Scott Barnett found a stocking at Telco Community Credit Union, located at 281 Asheville Highway; Jason Metzger found a stocking at Local Color, located at 36 S. Broad St .; Cathy Hamilton found a stocking at Elements Wellness Spa, located at 29 W. French Broad St .; and Lindsay Metzger found a stocking at Food Matters Market & Café, located at 1 Market St. Congratulations to all our stocking winners!

The Holiday Stocking Hunt is part of the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce Shop Local Holiday Giveaway program. Each Monday until Dec. 18, five stockings are "hidden" at participating locations, providing 15 total chances for local shoppers to win $50 in Transylvania Bucks. The last five stockings, and chances to play and win, will be placed on Monday, Dec. 14. Found stockings must be returned to the Visitor Center by noon, Dec. 18 to collect the prize.

In addition to the Holiday Stocking Hunt, shoppers can participate in the Shop Local Passport contest. Folks can pick up a blank Shop Local Passport at the Visitor Center, at participating business locations, or clip one from The Transylvania Times Shop Local ad. Each time a customer makes a purchase at a participating location, they can receive a stamp on their passport. Full passports must be returned to the Visitor Center at 175 E. Main St. in Brevard by noon on Dec. 18 to be entered to win one of two drawings for $250 in Transylvania Bucks. Shoppers may complete multiple passports for multiple chances to win.

Be on the lookout for a white squirrel in a Santa hat on the window of all of the participating locations!
