First Vaccine Shot Given In Transylvania – Transylvania County, NC

The first shipment of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived and was administered at Transylvania Regional Hospital (TRH) on Monday, Dec. 21.
A total of 168 frontline health care workers at TRH received the vaccine during the four-hour clinic.
The first person to be vaccinated at TRH was Anthony Tatone, RN.
“I am very excited to get the vaccine because I can’t think of a better way to protect my family and patients,” said Tatone. “I believe this is a turning point in this pandemic and I appreciate this opportunity.”
