Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus

Editor’s Note: In Sept. 1897, an eight-year-old girl named Virginia O’Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of The New York Sun asking, “Is there a Santa Claus?” An editorial writer of the Sun Staff, Francis Pharcellus Church, wrote a response which has now become a classic. Each year it has been part of our Christmas reading and each year it says even more to us. We are, therefore, sharing it with you.
I am eight years old.
Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
Papa says “If you see it in The Sun it’s so.”
Please tell me the truth, is there...
