Comporium Receives Funds To Help With Broadband Access – Transylvania County, NC

In part thanks to state funds, Comporium will have $4.2 million to expand rural broadband access in Transylvania County. Earlier this month, state legislators and Gov. Roy Cooper reached a deal to allocate $30 million to the GREAT rural broadband program. Eighteen projects, including Comporium’s, are expected to connect a total of 15,965 additional households and 703 businesses to high-speed internet in underserved areas across the state, according to a news release from N.C. Rep. Jake Johnson’s office.
