Waiting To The Last Minute

Early last week Congress overwhelmingly passed a combined bill to fund the government ($1.4 trillion) and provide economic relief from the impacts of the coronavirus ($900 billion). Both portions of the bill needed to be passed and contain much needed expenditures.
The coronavirus relief portion has received the most publicity because it has the greatest short-term effect on Americans. That portion of the bill contains $300 per week in jobless benefits and $600 stimulus payments to adults making less than $75,000 a year with an additional $600 for each dependent child.
