Tucked away along one of the many winding back roads in the Nantahala Forest District is an absolute gem among local hikers: The Granite City slot canyons.

Granite City is a series of collapsed boulders outside the small village of Cashiers wherein the boulders create pathways both above and below the ground for hikers to explore. The main boulder field expands about a quarter-mile in length with three levels to explore as you make your way up the mountain.
