Why were Thrift Cove and Maxwell Cove Road recently graded in Pisgah National Forest?
The Transylvania Times spoke with Pisgah District ranger Dave Casey about recent roadwork in Pisgah and he provided us with the following answer.
Casey said the district recently had access to a bulldozer, so they took the opportunity to fix both Thrift Cove and Maxwell Cove Road for different projects.
According to Casey, Thrift Cove Road was graded to allow the Wildlife Resources Commission access to the wildlife opening at the top of lower Black Mountain Trail.
