The local weather bureau reports to us that in spite of the erratic way it came to us this year, our rainfall was normal. The average rainfall for the Lake Toxaway section of Transylvania County is 85 inches per year, and in 1970 we had 85.15 inches. Our wettest month was October with 20.28 inches. Next wettest was August with 14.16 inches. All the other months ranged from 3 inches to 7 inches each, making the result a very average year.
