State Bar Disciplines District Attorney Newman

The N.C. State Bar Association (NCSB) issued District Attorney Greg Newman a three-year stayed suspension for conduct in a 2015 court case where, according to a disciplinary order filed Monday, Jan. 4, Newman failed to notify the family of the victim in a child rape case of a court proceeding.
The official order of discipline comes after a November 2020 hearing with the NCSB, in which the NCSB panel voted unanimously to issue the stayed suspension to Newman.
