Lady Tigers Punch Playoff Ticket, Face North Stanly Comets

After a 9-2 finish in the regular season and coming in second place in the Smoky Mountain Conference, the Rosman Lady Tigers are playoff bound, advancing to the postseason for the third straight year.
Rosman closed out the season strong, picking up a pair of road wins against Andrews and Hayesville.
When the state playoff brackets were revealed on Saturday, the Lady Tigers received a 12 seed and will travel to face the 5 seed –– North Stanly –– on Tuesday.
The Comets (10-1) finished the season undefeated in conference play, taking first place in the Yadkin Valley Conference. The team's sole loss on the year came against 3A East Rowan.
The Comets are an experienced squad, with eight of its 12 members listed as upperclassmen, including four seniors.
They have a pair of big senior hitters in Taegan Lowder and Cleo Carter, who have 164 and 147 kills, respectively.
So far this season, Rosman has been led offensively by junior Josie Chappell and senior Ashley Hoxit, who have combined for 169 kills.
The Lady Tigers' defense has been solid, with Laikyn Buchanan and Maggi Galloway leading the way in blocks, with 116 combined.
Elizabeth Daves leads the team in digs (268) and serves received (238).
The winner of Tuesday's match advances to the second round to face the winner of 4 seed Alleghany and 13 seed Gray Stone Day.
