Last updated 1/20/2021 at 5pm
Pruning is very important for the health, productivity and appearance of trees and shrubs. Late winter and early spring are great times for shrub and tree pruning because you can easily see the branch structure. The N.C. Cooperative Extension program in Transylvania County will offer two classes to the general public to learn how to take control of pruning and landscape plants, including fruit trees.
Thursday, Jan. 28, at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom (this class is only via Zoom): Home Pruning Of Fruit Trees. Watch and ask questions on how tree pruning improves the health, beauty and function of apple, peach, and Asian pear trees.
Visit http://www.eventbrite.com/e/winter-fruit-tree-pruning-zoom-tickets-137307537541 to register for this zoom class.
Friday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., there will be an in-person meeting at Gaia Herbs limit 20 people. Masks and social distancing are required. Bring your own tools if possible. We will have a few extra tools. Dress for the outdoor weather. Any questions email [email protected] or call 884-3109
To get to the workshop take U.S. 64 toward Rosman, and turn left onto Island Ford Road. Then turn right onto Herbs Lane, a gravel road that goes behind the campus. Follow this road for about half of a mile until you see our workshop on the left.
