Brian Joshua Sentelle, 47, passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2021, at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, after a lengthy illness.

Born Aug. 16, 1973, he was a son of Kerry and Dawn Sentelle, of Pisgah Forest.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Jason Sentelle, of Pisgah Forest; uncle, Devlin Wilde, of Tuckaseegee; and special cousin, Mark Bolt, of Pisgah Forest.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Barbra Wilde, and paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Violet Sentelle.

He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished fly fisherman from an early age. He composed an award-winning poem on the subject as a teenager. Baseball was his passion. He umpired many youth league games. Being a role model to aspiring young athletes was very rewarding for him.

After graduating from Rosman High and the Basic Law Enforcement Training program at AB Community College, he went to work for trucking companies in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, and was able to see and experience more in his 47 years than most people in their lifetime.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A drive-by visitation and book signing will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations.
