Isabelle Marie Paloma Fazio

Isabelle Marie Paloma Fazio, 81, of Brevard, formerly of Miami, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.

She was a daughter of the late Migeal Diaz Paloma and Marie Cecila Egger Paloma. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Edward R. Fazio.

She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Notre Dame Academy and Florida International University, all in Miami, Fla.

She spent her life caring for others, which led her to the medical field, where she became a registered nurse. She was to become the charge nurse of the Hospice Unit of Miami Heart Institute (currently Mt. Sinai Medical Center). She was featured with her staff on the cover of The Nursing Spectrum acknowledging her work and dedication to this Hospice Unit.

She retired early, and she and Johnny Martinez visited Brevard every fall for many years. In 2003 they decided to make Brevard their home. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brevard and enjoyed volunteering at the Transylvania Regional Hospital Gift Shop.

Isabelle is survived by her beloved Johnny Martinez, and two sons, Scott Kevin Groover Rodney and Stephen James Rodney.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
