Since the first shots of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in December, its distribution has been relatively chaotic. States and local health departments have not known when or how much vaccine they are going to receive. In turn, local health departments have been unable to efficiently schedule appointments. (According to The Atlantic magazine, Walton County, Fla., decided not to maintain a waiting list because it was taking too long to call everyone back to make an appointment.) This has created confusion and frustration among those seeking to be vaccinated.
