Looks like Old Man Winter is staying with us a little longer. We hope that everyone was safe during the storm this past weekend and didn’t fall and break an arm or hip. Be sure to check on your elder family and friends during this cold weather. Sometimes, just a phone call makes their day, as most all of them have been staying in, so as not to catch COVID-19 or to fall and break something. Better to be safe than to be sorry.
God’s Way Food Pantry
We are no longer able to allow after-hours pick-up. The food pantry is open every other Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The next food pantry is Feb. 20. Drive-thru only. If you are sick or unable to come, please call 884-7793 to have someone to pick up for you. Blessings to David, Lydia and staff.
Balsam Grove Playground
The Balsam Grove playground at the community center is open at this time. Just be sure to please practice safety by wearing a mask and social districting, and be sure to wash hands before entering the playground and after leaving the playground. Thank you.
If you have donations for your yard sales, please contact an officer of the community club to meet you at the community center to put it in the building. Items get ruined if they are just dropped off at the door, and then we have to pay to have it hauled off. We appreciate your cooperation. Calls may be made to Bernice Powell at 884-6058 or Carol Gardner at 884-6247 or any other officer.
Those celebrating an anniversary this week are Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Owen, Feb. 14. We wish them a happy anniversary.
Those celebrating a birthday this week are Leona McCall and Barbara Galloway, Feb. 12; Anna Lou Owen, Feb. 14; Tyler Arant, Sherry Henderson and Sharon McCarter, Feb. 15; Kim Ashe, Feb. 16; and Alyson Perry and Anthony Arant, Feb. 17. We wish all of them a happy birthday.
