Conservation nonprofit The Pisgah Conservancy announced recently that the organization has received approval from the US Forest Service to proceed with the construction of the Joel Branch Connector Trail in Pisgah National Forest.
The 1.3-mile trail will connect two existing Forest Service roads USFS Road 5002 (Joel Branch Road) and USFS Road 475C (Horse Cove Road.) This connector will provide a loop route from Brevard and Bracken Mountain through Pisgah to the fish hatchery area of the forest. This connector trail is designated for hiking, biking (non-motorized) and equestrian use.
