Director Gives Vaccine Update – Transylvania County, NC

As of Monday, 3,857 county residents, 11.2 percent of the population, have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to Elaine Russell, the Transylvania Public Health director.
Russell gave the Board of Commissioners a vaccine update, using state data, during their regular meeting Monday.
The total includes those county residents who received the vaccine in another county, she said.
She presented a breakdown of which age groups in the county had received a first dose, noting those under 65 qualified because they were health care workers: 18 to 24 years old (0.82 percent)...
