Sealed proposals will be received until 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 by the City of Brevard at Brevard City Hall, in the City Council Chambers, 95 W. Main Street, Brevard, North Carolina 28712 at which time and place bids will be opened and read. Bids may be hand delivered up until the time of bid opening.

The project consists of construction of a new approximately 5,742 square foot one-story community center located at 140 Carver Street, Brevard, NC 28712 to house a community meeting room with raised platform stage, a kitchen, two meeting rooms, table and chair storage, restroom facilities, office, lobby and required mechanical and other support spaces. Sitework includes site preparation, utility construction, stormwater management, parking, sidewalks, exterior plazas, and required planting.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm via Zoom. Those interested in attending this pre-bid meeting must register by Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at noon. A Zoom invitation will be emailed to you at the email address provided. Send your request to participate to [email protected] and put MCJCC PRE-BID in the subject heading.

Request for Bid Documents as PDFs will be provided to Qualified Bidders at no charge. Contact Mathews Architecture, P.A. via email at [email protected] mathewsarchitecture to request those documents to be emailed. Individual sheets/sections will not be provided digitally.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier’s check in the amount of 5% of the bid payable to City of Brevard. Bids must be submitted in paper form.

Vendors submitting bids are required solicit Minority Business Enterprise/ Women’s Business Enterprise Participation with a verifiable goal of 10% participation in fulfilling their contract in accordance with City Ordinance. The bid should indicate MBE/WBE areas of involvement.

The successful bidder shall comply with all Federal and State requirements concerning fair employment and treatment of all employees, without regard or discrimination by reason of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin or physical handicap.

The City of Brevard reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.
