Stroupe To Represent Himself During Murder Trial – Transylvania County, NC

District Attorney Greg Newman announced that a judge is allowing Phillip Michael Stroupe to represent himself in the upcoming trial charging him with murder, kidnapping and robbery. In a brief hearing in the Henderson County Superior Court, Stroupe advised the court he wanted to fire his two lawyers and represent himself. The judge asked Stroupe several questions related to his request and determined that Stroupe was competent to make this decision.
