Marshall L. Seymour Jr.

Marshall L. Seymour Jr., 83, of Brevard passed away suddenly at home Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021.

Born in Hartford, Conn. June 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Frances (Hopkins) Seymour and Marshall L. Seymour Sr. He grew up in Suffield, Conn. and graduated from Suffield Academy with the Class of 1954. After serving his country with the United States Air Force, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from New York University and a Master of Science degree in engineering administration from the University of Tennessee.

A retired engineer, he had a very successful career in the aerospace industry and was a lover of dogs, sports, music, airplanes and being served good food. In addition, he was passionate about family and leading a purposeful, philanthropic life.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia S. Forstrom and brother-in-law, Donald A. Forstrom Sr. “Unc” is also survived by his niece and nephews, Sarah F. Mahnke (George), Donald A. Forstrom Jr. (Rebecca), and Jonathan S. Forstrom (Kimberly); several great-nieces and nephews; and by his longtime dear friend and supporter, Marcia Millar.

Burial services were private and interment took place at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery in Black Mountain.
