April 1 played April Fools on us, with some chilly weather for a couple of mornings. Flowers and bushes paid the price with their wilted heads. On to warmer and better weather.
So many Easter memories come to mind this time of year. When I was a child some families who were cousins would get together after church and have a picnic, and the adults would hide the eggs. This was at a time when real eggs were dyed with colored tablets called Easter dye. The tablets were placed in paper cups or glass snuff jars, vinegar was poured and once the tablets were dissolved the eggs were put in to dye....
