'Deep Dive' Into Financing $225 Million Capital Projects Scheduled

During its regular meeting today, the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to take a “deep dive” into the financial options to pay for capital projects, such as a new courthouse and EMS base, and a replacement campus for Blue Ridge Community College.
The county has identified roughly $225 million in capital costs for projects earmarked through the 2026 fiscal year. The projects include not only big-ticket items, but also HVAC and roof replacements, parking lot repairs and paving, general maintenance, among others.
