Inspectors Tell County To Repair Dog Kennels - Transylvania County

The Board of Commissioners has approved $47,000 to repair the dog kennels at the Animal Shelter after a state inspection.

On March 31, the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences conducted a random site inspection of the Animal Shelter, the commissioners were told during their meeting last week.

Seven days before the inspection, the county had an abuse case that required the capture and care of 27 dogs, stretching the shelter’s resources thin, staff reported.

Seizing, holding and treating the animals cost the county $26,530
