Notice of City Council to Consider an Exchange of City Owned Property for an Easement on Colwell Drive

The Brevard City Council will hold a meeting on Monday, May 17, 2021. The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM or as soon thereafter as possible in the Multi-Purpose Chambers- County Administration Building located at 101 S. Broad Street, Brevard, North Carolina, to consider the following:

As per North Carolina General Statutes 160A-271, City Council will consider a Resolution to Exchange City Owned Property for an Easement at the next regular Council Meeting. The City owned property is approximately .07 acre vacant land located on Colwell Drive, identified as Parcel Identification Number 8585-38-5547-000, valued at $30,000, recorded in Book 242, Page 158. The easement for stormwater management of approximately 1,400 square feet is located at 60 Colwell Drive between Colwell Drive and Aiken Street, identified as Parcel Identification Number 8585-38-5621-000, valued at $45,000, recorded in Book 100, Page 180.

The public is invited to attend this meeting and make comment, either in favor of or in opposition to the City exchanging land for an easement. The details of the exchange are available for review and are on file in the Brevard Planning Department and available for public inspection during normal hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. For additional information call the Planning Department at (828) 885-5630.
