City Looking To Increase Electric Vehicle Stations

Four Duke Energy-sponsored electric vehicle (EV) charging stations may be installed in the public parking lot on the corner of Main and England streets in downtown Brevard, across from City Hall.

In April’s meeting, Brevard City Council approved a resolution to allow for staff to apply for the Duke Energy Park & Plug program that seeks to install, own and operate EV charging stations in several states, including North Carolina.

The program’s purpose, according to Duke Energy, is to provide a foundational level of EV infrastructure and to help with EV market growth.
