D-Day Commemoration: Ed Cottrell's WWII Combat Missions

The Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas invites the public to commemorate D-Day on Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Transylvania Elections Center (150 Gaston St. in Brevard). The program is "P-47 Pilot Ed Cottrell's WWII Combat Missions." Cottrell will share his stories and pictures fighting the war in Europe.

In addition, eight of his fellow WWII veterans will be introduced and honored.

Cottrell served in the Army Air Corps from August 1942 through 1945. He enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in 1950 and completed 28 years. Cottrell graduated from flight school in 1944 and was sen...
