NCWRC Backs Conservation-Based Land-Use Planning

Conservation-based land -use planning helps protect important habitat for wildlife species in North Carolina and saves money, according to a presentation at the latest Transylvania Natural Resource Council meeting.

During the meeting, Kacey Cook, with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Comm-ission (NCWRC), gave a presentation about the Green Growth Toolbox, an assistance tool designed to help communities plan development of new homes, workplaces and shopping centers while also conserving high-quality habitats.
